One Project A Month

Another month has flown by. At least I had a couple of finishes this time. My two Marie Antionette cushions.

Thanks to Peg and Kris for keeping us inspired.
Anorina from Samelia's Mum recently took part in the Making Connections blog hop . I was her lucky winner
of a copy of the ebook "Making Connections".
Thank you Anorina.
Thought I'd show you my progress on my sewing caddy.
All the stitching is now completed. Now to put it together.

Let them Eat Cake!

A family member has a special birthday coming up
and loves Marie Antionette. Trying to think of something to make, I started to look for Marie Antoinette fabric.
Imagine my surprise when I came across these printed
fabric panels. I decided to make a pair of cushions.
 Aren't the panels gorgeous!
Finding the right fabrics was a bit tricky
but I think these ended up working well.
I used Fairy Frost by Michael Miller.

Friday Night Sew-In

Last night I did some more stitching on my sewing caddy. Hopefully, by the end of today I might have all
the stitching complete. All the boys left early this morning to go the NFL Division 2 Grand Finals.
Three matches, so they won't get home until 6pm!
That means there's only Molly and myself home all day.
It also means I can binge watch When Calls the Heart on Netflix. I came across this series and am really enjoying it. It is set in the early 1900's in a coal mining town in Canada.
Thank you to Wendy for being such a lovely hostess.
You can see what everyone else got up to here.

Well, the washing is all finished, so it's time to
head to my spot on the couch!
Have a lovely weekend everyone.

A Perfectly Pleasing Pin Cushion Parade!

The Perfectly Pleasing Pin Cushion Parade is on again.
It is hosted by the lovely Ida over at
I enjoyed taking part last year and decided to join in again.
These are all of the my pin cushions. I think there
maybe one or two others hiding somewhere. Some you would have seen in last year's parade. They were either made by me or made for me by friends.
My Sewing Bird is the newest addition to my collection.
I also thought I would share my special little sewing set my auntie found for me many years ago in an op (thrift) shop. They are so tiny. You can see the size of the pin cushion
in the top photo compared to the others.

Can you see the little crown of beads on the cushion?
A scissor keep, tape measure holder and the cutest little thimble holder complete the set. I wonder who it was that made this beautiful set. The crochet stitches are so tiny and neat, not the mention the beading. Hopefully they would be happy to know it now lives with someone who loves it.

I hope you have enjoyed my little parade. Head over here
to see all the other wonderful pin cushions.
In fact, it would be great if you joined in too.

Friday Night With Friends

I settled down to a lovely night of stitching and
worked on my sewing caddy. Mogwai curled up next
to me and slept the whole night.
 The stitchery so far.
Thanks to Cheryll for being our lovely hostess.
You can see what the others got up to here.
by Ida at My Sister Made Me Do It is starting on Monday.
I'm going to join in again this year.

After my night of stitching and then getting out my pin cushions to photograph this morning, I'm starting to feel inspired to get stitching again. Hopefully, this means my mojo is deciding to come back!

OPAM and Molly Has A Friend Sleepover!

For the first time since 2012,
I have NO finishes for the month! Nothing, zero, zip! I seem to have lost my sewing mojo. Hopefully, I can find it soon. I have done a little stitching and have been helping Nelson with a sewing project for school which is at least something.
Thanks to Peg and Kris for organising OPAM.
This is Mogwai.
She is Austin's girlfriend, Paris' dog. She has been having a sleep over here while Austin is in Queensland with Paris and her family enjoying the beautiful weather up there.
They seem to be ignoring each other here. It's a bit different staying overnight rather than just coming for a walk together. Mogwai had been coming over for walks
for a few weeks to get used to each other.
It took a little be of trial and error for them to get coordinated when taking them for a walk by myself.
 This way?
 No, this way!
 Finally, sorted out.
Austin making a new friend. Look at that blue sky!
Seems they are having lots of fun.
Not too sure about that pose of Austin's though!
